So.... aside from the everyday normal cuteness going on at our house (see photo above), we've got new small critters at our place.  "How does this happen?" you ask.  Well, Calley taught a nice Swedish boy with a strong affection for pitiful domestic critters roaming the streets of Bamako.  He would rescue small kitties and take care of them, nurse teen cat mothers back to health after traumatic catbirths and hand-feed their illegitimate offspring.  When he was scheduled to return to Scandinavia, he didn't know what to do with his brood.  Luckily for him, his math teacher also liked small whiskered fuzzballs.  This is how not one but two new kitties came to be living with us.  We were only suppose to acquire one new feline, but when our friends decided that their cat didn't get along with their new kitty, we realized that you can't return a pet to someone who now lives on a different continent.

In any case... I got to name the new cats, and in the process re-named our veteran special cat.  You'll notice my tendence to give edible names to pets.  I present to you:

Flapjack-the exceptional one.

 Chilimac-the outspoken one.

and The Baconator-the antisocial one (he's working on it)

Rowan was so excited to have new cats, he just had to put on 3 pairs of socks and a Dogon hat to show his enthusiasm.

PS-I'll be back soon with a more sophisticated, culturally intriguing post in the very near future.
